What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website or a service stores in your browser. They can remember a setting, keep you signed in, or help a service recognize that a visit came from a particular link.
Which cookies does Green Writer use?
The site itself does not set analytics cookies at the moment. There are no user accounts and no newsletter sign-up, so there are no login or subscription cookies either, and the site does not show display ads.
We do use Google Search Console to see how Green Writer appears in Google Search. It does not place cookies on your browser.
What about affiliate links?
When you click an affiliate link, the store or network, such as Amazon, may set its own cookie. Its purpose is to credit the referral so that a qualifying purchase can be linked to this site. These cookies belong to the third party and fall under its own policies. You can learn how the links work in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Does the web host record anything?
The host keeps standard server logs with your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These are log files, not cookies, and they are covered in the Privacy Policy.
How can I block or delete cookies?
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies in its settings. You can usually clear cookies for a single site or for all sites, and you can set the browser to ask before accepting them. Instructions differ by browser, so check its help pages.
Will blocking cookies stop me from reading the site?
No. Everything on Green Writer can be read with cookies turned off. The only effect is that a store may not be able to credit the referral if you buy after clicking one of our links.
Who can I ask?
Questions about this policy can go to privacy@greenwriter.org.
