Does Green Writer respect copyright?
Yes. We take the rights of creators seriously and respond to valid notices of alleged infringement. If you believe something on the site copies your work without permission, you can ask us to remove it.
How do I send a takedown notice?
Email legal@greenwriter.org. A complete notice includes:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed
- The URL on Green Writer where the material appears
- Your name, email address and other contact details
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner
- Your physical or electronic signature
What happens next?
The Green Writer Editorial Team reviews each complete notice. If it is valid, we remove or disable access to the material and may tell the person who published it. Incomplete notices may be returned with a request for more information.
What is a counter-notice?
If you believe material was removed by mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. It should identify the removed material and where it appeared, include a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the removal was a mistake, and include your contact details and signature. We may forward it to the original complainant.
What about repeat infringers?
We may restrict or remove content from sources that repeatedly infringe copyright. Green Writer has no user accounts, so this mainly applies to content we receive from third parties.
