Who runs Green Writer, and how do I reach them?
Green Writer (www.greenwriter.org) is operated from the United States and written by the Green Writer Editorial Team. Privacy questions and requests go to privacy@greenwriter.org.
What information do you collect?
Very little. The site sells nothing, has no user accounts, no paid memberships and no newsletter, and comments are switched off. The information that does exist falls into three groups.
- Server logs: the web host records your IP address, browser type and the pages you request.
- Messages you send: if you use the contact form or email us, we receive what you write and your return address.
- Search visibility data: Google Search Console shows us how Green Writer appears in Google Search. It does not place cookies on your browser.
The site sets no analytics cookies of its own at the moment and shows no display ads.
Why do you use it, and for how long?
Server logs support security and troubleshooting. Messages are used to reply to you, and the contact form passes them by email to the editorial inbox without any other use of the data. Search Console helps us see which pages people find.
We keep information only while it serves those purposes. The host decides how long logs are retained, and we delete emails when they are no longer needed.
What about cookies?
The Cookie Policy lists what the site does and does not set. In short, our own pages set no analytics cookies, while affiliate links can lead to third-party cookies.
How do affiliate links affect my privacy?
If you click a link to Amazon, the store or its network may set a cookie to credit the referral. Amazon has its own privacy policy, and it governs what that cookie collects. We don’t receive your purchase details. The Affiliate Disclosure explains the arrangement.
What happens when I follow other links?
Outside sites have their own privacy practices. We don’t control them, so read their policies before sharing information.
Do you collect information from children?
No. Green Writer is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has written to us, tell us and we will delete the message.
What choices and rights do I have?
You can read the site without giving us anything. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Residents of some U.S. states have rights under state privacy laws, which can include asking to see the personal information a business holds about them, asking for it to be deleted or corrected, and being free from discrimination for making a request. To exercise these rights, email privacy@greenwriter.org. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We do not sell personal information.
How is information kept safe?
We take reasonable precautions and depend on our host’s server security. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t promise absolute protection.
